Id say that the Ion is great for beginners, that dont want to much matinence. But if your not buying something new. go for the Sft Shockers if you keep them well maintained ( clean and lubing the marker after each use and making sure everything is in place). The stock SFTs go for around 300-350.
Now if your looking for an less expensive marker then i would go for say the epiphany from smart parts. |

shockers and epiphany arn't starters, pros use them. Ions are good beginner but then you get made fun of.... no offence any ion owners.

why are you countering what im saying, it doesnt matter what the pros use when your a beginner its all about the price and if it shoots good. well sfts go for 300 bucks and guess what so do some of the guns above so eat it. epiphanys are good for beginners cause what someone siad above your not spending 600 dollers you can just selli t on ebay and the gun is efficient and it shoots well. with out having to put a million dollars into it.
Its my opinion, its not up for arguement. |

I am agreeing with Dre, shockers arn't very good beginner guns, because you have to lube them, and take care of them, where as ions you don't have to lube them

weell thats what i had stated (IF YOU lube them) with epiphanys you dont have to. i didnt take to much time to get into other guns. Im not sure if were talking about buying nib guns or pbnation kind of guns. But like almost everyone who started paintball with kingman(spyder) markers they are VERY easy to maintain. you can learn to like field strip the thing in like 10 seconds. and i agree with Nick Bizzar tippmans are a very nice gun to start with at a low price, they also usually come with a package including a tank, mask, barrel cover and gravity feed hopper.

If I had to I would probably go with the PMR over the epiphany. Or I would just buy an Ion and put a t-board in it and customize it with what I like. Because maybe it's just me but I think the Epiphany colors are all kind of ugly, I guess it all just depends. Different Strokes.
