Hey,im new to this forum although i love paintball except the only place i can play is in the woods at this place nearby,so i don't have much experiance.
What id like to know is things like positions and what a team needs to get started etc,i know to get into a team i should be going to walk ons but its just so hard for me cause out of me and the friends i go paintballing with i feel like im the only one that feels i could do this for life and not to sound big headed but the rest of my friends kinda lack the drive to play well/keep going :/ Please if you have anything that could improve my knowledge on things like positions and what an avrage person lacks that full time Pballers don't that'd be a great help! <3 |

welcome to the forums barker
im sure we can help you. To start off there are 3 basic postions in speedball. Front players, Mid Players, and back players. Then there are insert players. Some players only play one side of the field. For example, you might have a guy that only plays the snake side, and another guy that only plays the dorito side. Front and mid players are usually the more aggresive players on the field. Back players stay back and shoot lanes to protect their players upfield. Thats pretty much the basics. Then theres different styles or ways to play speedball. Theres elimination, single flag, and capture the flag. |

In a nut shell, the "fulltimers" have commitment, They commit everything they have into paintball, they work oout for paintball, work for paintball, sleep, eat and drink paintball. they study what they need to do to get better. And then the next day go out and do those things.
Im not sure if your talking about moving to the tournament ball side of paintball but thats the side that you make the money and do it for life. If your friends arent feeling the way you are. dont let them be apart of yoru dream. Look for places on here going through the regional subforms for where you live and look for your nearest paintball field that has tournament play. go to open play and talk to some of the players get to know the place and then hold a tryout for a team or try out for a local team. Get some tournament experience and then find the Next big team at say the division 3 level and keep going from there. after doing well in tournys try to get some low end sponsors, even car dealerships and keep playing those tournaments, holding numerous practices. After those sponsors, you may be offered spots on teams with paintball related sponsor ships and keep getting better. PRACTICE PRACTICE PRACTICE. Use this to get started. this is all adding on to what aritsotle said. |
