- or so i think it was called. I am not quite sure what this is (Been playing paintball for some time now, but not with high end markers). Apparantly its somethign which lets you shoot full auto up to 25 BPS if you semi fire 7 or more BPS. I also heard this is legal in tourneys..which seems unreasonable to me, but thats why i made this thread after all
![]() Could someone explain to me a bit clearer what Rampage is, which markers have them (does my "soon to get" Ego 05 have that option for an example?) and is it legal in tourneys? (Rules ofcourse vary a bit from each one, but im talking about whats common). Oh and ofcourse, what the real term is if i got it wrong Last edited by Exclude : 08-10-2007 at 12:42 PM. |

The term is more commonly known as "ramping," though I have heard it called "rampage mode." There are many different settings for ramping, and on some boards those settings are customizable. Most settings that tournaments allow are rebound, and PSP ramping, they are both capped at fifteen balls per second. I'm not exactly sure how rebound mode works, but I know the ball per second rate goes up accordingly with the speed at which you are pulling the trigger, (EX. you pull the trigger at 3 bps, the gun shoots 5. you pull the trigger at 8 bps, the gun shoots 12.) PSP ramping is more common. When you use PSP ramping, the first three shots are semi automatic (one pull, one shot.) But any shot after those three is a burst of 3 shots, this will not exceed 15 balls per second.

But burst and full auto alone is (as far as i know) illegal in tournaments. but shooting 3 BPS is fairly easy, why can you avoid the rules like that so easily?

Ramping isn't exactly full auto, or burst. PSP ramping does use some form of burst, but you are not avoiding the rules because it IS legal to use it. Full auto is illegal because it requires no effort, you atleast have to pull the trigger to use ramping.
Again, forms of ramping ARE legal so you are avoiding no rules.
